What Beautiful Places collects
You can browse without an account. If you join, we store your email, account identifier, and display name to provide sign-in and your contributions. Your email is not shown on public posts. We store the photos, videos, audio, writing, links, ratings, reports, and place information you submit. Posts, display names, public guides, and place locations are visible to other people; reports and blocking records are not public. We do not sell personal information.
Optional location and photo access
Location permission is optional and requested when you choose a location feature. We do not track your movements in the background. You can browse without it or select a location on the map. Locations attached to public posts and places are public. Approximate locations are the default for new contributions; share precise coordinates only when appropriate. New photos uploaded through the app are resized into viewing copies and thumbnails without modifying your library originals. Only the media you choose is uploaded; your whole library is not uploaded. Do not share private addresses or sensitive sites.
Saved places and offline downloads
Saved places, personal guides, and downloaded photo/writing packs are stored on your device. Public guides are stored on our service. Offline packs are snapshots and may retain content removed from the online service. You can remove downloads in the app; account deletion does not automatically erase downloads on other people's devices.
How the app loads content
The app and website load public Beautiful Places media information such as video titles, descriptions, thumbnails, photos, stories, and links. This content may be delivered through services such as Supabase, Vercel, YouTube, Spotify, and media hosting/CDN providers. Those services may process standard technical information, such as IP address, device/browser information, request times, and network logs, as needed to deliver and protect the service.
YouTube, Spotify, and external services
Some videos or podcast links may open or play through YouTube, Spotify, or another external service. When you use those services, their privacy policies and terms apply. Beautiful Places does not extract YouTube video streams, block ads, or collect your YouTube or Spotify account information.
Tracking and advertising
Beautiful Places does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not track you across apps or websites for advertising, and does not sell or share personal information with data brokers.
Retention and account deletion
Account information and contributions are retained while your account is active. In the app, open You and select Delete Account and Contributions to permanently remove your account, authored posts, public guides, ratings, and uploads stored by Beautiful Places. Empty places you created are removed; shared place feeds containing other people's posts may remain without your account attribution. We may retain limited moderation records for abuse prevention and legal obligations. Provider backups and technical logs follow their retention schedules. We cannot delete originals on external services or copies saved by others. For assistance, email tonyfarley@mac.com.
Moderation and your choices
We use submitted content and reports to keep the community safe. Curators can review reports, hide content, and suspend contributing privileges. You can block contributors, report posts or places, sign out, and revoke location/photo access in device settings. Revoking device location/photo access does not remove already published content.
Optional cross-app post sharing
Sharing your posts in Tony Farley's other apps, experiences, and games is optional and off by default. We save your choice for each post, the wording version, and when you changed it. If you opt in, your post and display-name credit can appear in those experiences. You can turn this off on your post while online; that stops new cross-app use and removes it from connected sharing catalogs. Offline or previously downloaded copies cannot be recalled immediately. Your original Beautiful Places post remains unless you delete it. Permission history is deleted with the post or account; provider backups follow their retention schedules. See Terms of Use for the permission wording.
Children
Beautiful Places is intended as a general nature media experience. It is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account or contribute if you are under 13. Contact us if a child has shared personal information so we can investigate and remove it.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Beautiful Places adds new features, or changes how information is handled. The updated date above will change when the policy is revised.
