Havasu Falls is the most beautiful waterfall in the world.  OK, so I have not seen all of them, but I challenge anyone to find one more beautiful.  Please send me links to images.  🙂  The waters are a creamy mineral rich emerald blue that cascade over a cliff built up by the minerals left by past waterfall flows.  The water falls into a beautiful shallow pool that you can swim out into and soak up the fresh mist.  The waters then cascade over limestone terraces built up out of the minerals in the water.  The whole scene is magical.
In 2008, floodwaters devastated the entire Havasu Canyon. Â This was after my trip, so my podcast along with images on the web are the only way to experience Havasu Falls. Â It is not clear how badly the terraces and falls were affected by the floods, but the trails and bridges were badly damaged. Â This is a normal process, and the terraces as well as the falls themselves have had their paths altered over time creating the beauty you see in my image above and my podcast below.
Nature uses destruction to create new beauty and the examples are everywhere in the most beautiful places.
I’m keeping this post short because I am sick today and need some sleep.  Thanks for reading, and please post a comment with your favorite waterfall.  I’d love to be wrong and find a more beautiful waterfall.
